Hey Girlies, this post gets real. Realness is a big thing behind my blog. I keep it as real as possible because I believe it’s the best thing to do and I want to push you all, I want us as women to ALL succeed, strive, and reach our dreams + goals. Let’s begin. XO!
New year, new me? Yeah right. Let’s be real, the majority of us are all talk and no action. We set goals, then never follow through. Or we start them for the first quarter (Jan/Feb/Mar) of the year and then end up quitting and giving up. Some go the FIRST WEEK of January and stop. Why is that? It seems as if we’re so excited when we think about the goals/dreams/plans we establish at the end of 2015 but when it comes time to do the action…what? It’s too hard, you lose focus, change your mind? Look back on your previous years where you set goals and didn’t follow through & ask yourself WHY. Go head girl, do it. Grab a pen and paper, I’ll wait (the blog and article isn’t going anywhere 😉 ) Really self-reflect and decide what it is and learn from it. Mine was fear. I was scared to implement my ideas and goals because I thought I was
too young to do what I wanted to do, so I kept putting it off. But no, age has nothing to do with nothing! Set your goals and make a legit plan. Complete ALL your goals that you set. Go into and leave 2016 soaring. Here are some ways to organize your goals for 2016:
Write Them Out
Seems simple right? It can be. Start simple. Make a list whether it be 1,2,3,4 etc or a web concept. Write down what you want to accomplish – specific things. Then look what you have down and try to put them into categories. Health, Love, School, Work, Travel, Money, etc?
Go to the calendar on your smartphone and set reminders/encouragement. REMIND yourself on what it is you’re supposed to be accomplishing. ENCOURAGE yourself not to be a lazy girl with active dreams/goals/plans. Get up and do work.
Map it Out (Monthly Checklist)
I am pretty sure we are all aware of the infamous “Wedding Checklist” we see on Pinterest. Am I right or am I right? This is a similar idea. Look at your list, see and realize what it is you want to accomplish and decide which goals should be started/completed/in progress in what month. For example, in January 2016 I want to sign up for a gym membership and get a healthy food list in order. In February 2016, I want to actually start going to the gym at least 3 times a week and lessen the times I eat fast food.
Get the idea? Organizing and putting things into chunks help it look less overwhelming if you have a ton of things you want to get done.
Visuals are it. This makes everything so much better. Why do you think we love Instagram, Pinterest, and Tumblr so much? Having a vision board just puts things in a different perspective and motivates you in an entirely different way. The vision board can consist of single words, quotes, pictures, etc. It can be made by hand or, for me, in Photoshop or some other computer softwar
I would love to hear what your goals are and see your vision boards. Don’t be scared to connect! Send me an email, leave a comment, or mention me on Twitter, @micahxnicole. XO!
